Since we are here together on this Planet Earth we might as well got to know each other better because we are connected in more ways than we think. I would like to present you a brand new association called ‘Puente Azul’. ‘Puente Azul’ is founded in 2026 in The Netherlands by Fieke van Berkom and means ‘blue bridge’; it comes over the waters & air between Mexico & The Netherlands. The intention of ‘Puente Azul’ is to connect both worlds  and everyone and thing who/what is in between. We create community, exchange culture, raise awareness about environmental issues & protect nature. We share knowledge & love for both countries & cultures.

Fieke van Berkom’s love for Mexico started in 2006 when she visited Mexico for the first time by invitation. She was enchanted by the beauty and also deeply touched by the humane and ecological matters of Mexico. In 20 years Fieke has been back and forward to Mexico many many times and she has lived there for two years when she got involved in many volunteer projects around Mexico. Fieke feels super connected to the Mexican ancient culture and was invited for ceremonies and a Mayan medicinal plant class for the fact that she speaks almost fluent Spanish and shows a lot of interest & respect in the culture. Now she has her home base in NL and just got her permanent residency in Mexico. With that status she is more able to live and work in both countries which will be necessary to do projects like building a recycling system along the coastline and educate kids about healthy ecosystems through art classes. Ofcourse Dutch knowledge and hands can serve in this process of co-creation.
