Fieke (Oss, The Netherlands, 1982) is a multidisciplinary creator with a strong connection to nature, culture and social change. After graduating in Graphic Design from Sint Lucas in Boxtel in The Netherlands she continued her studies in Photography at St. Joost in Breda in The Netherlands where she graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, specializing in documentary photography.

Growing up in the Dutch countryside, Fieke developed an early fascination with ecosystems and the relationship between humans and nature. Over the past nineteen years, Fieke has worked on self-initiated independent research projects, she explores local and global issues surrounding ecology, society and regenerative transitions. Fieke developed herself into an experienced visual storyteller. Her subjects are humanitarian and her approach is personal and immersive, closely related to gonzo journalism: not from a distance or with claims of objectivity, but through direct experience, participation and genuine connection with people, places and their stories. Her social skills and engagement also make her a strong community builder. The knowledge and experiences she gathers in the field are translated into exhibitions, lectures, a podcast, publications and encounters that invite dialogue and reflection.

In 2018 Fieke had to stop all her work related activities to recover from a burn-out. She chose to start studying plant medicine at Het Kruidenrijk in Haaren, NL. It was that year that she connected again with the sacred lands of Mexico and there she was able to heal herself with the help of the natural elements, various skilled holistic healers and traditional ancient medicine.

In 2020 Fieke was introduced by the soft power of aquatic therapy in Mazunte Oaxaca, Mexico. She became an aquatic facilitator and was absolutely touched by the forgotten knowledge and re-connection of the healing waters. She decided to spread this medicine globally and bring people back in connection with the element of where we contain from the most; water.

In 2022 Fieke decided to move to Mexico permanently and dedicate her time and energy to holistic projects all over Mexico. This was a period of personal and professional growth where she connected with conscious communities and activistic humans in Mexico and spread the water medicine. She started to walk the ‘camino rojo’ which means the red road. Also translated as the ‘path of the heart’ or ‘path of healing’ in indigenous cultures. The shamanic path was opening doors for Fieke and she felt the call to walk it with grace, respect and humbleness. In any sense this was a period who enriched Fieke’s life in many ways. Although through family circumstances Fieke had to move back to the Netherlands in 2024 did the Mexican spirit that she embodied never leave her.

Once back on the countryside in The Netherlands she had the opportunity to connect back with her roots, family and ancestral land and she choose to integrate and share all that she had learned during her time in Mexico. Fieke started to connect with Mexicans in The Netherlands or Mexicans who visited The Netherlands for several reasons, for ceremony for example.  She also started to work as an ecological fieldworker and in 2025 se started a parttime study in ecology. In the winter of 2026 she traveled back to Mexico and got her permanent resident status there.

Fieke realized she is privileged and want to use this status to live and work in both countries and create the bridge in between. So ‘Puente Azul,’ what means ‘Blue Bridge’ was born. This is a foundation that builds bridges between Mexico and the Netherlands and focuses on creating sustainable and social connections. Her intention is to create more consciousness about human and ecological matters and connect projects and knowledge of both sides.

Fieke is a versatile visionary who believes in the power of creativity, compassion and collaboration. She is always open to new ideas, inspiring encounters and meaningful co-creations.
